1Australian & New Zealand Burn Association, St Leonards, Australia

Abstract:

The ANZBA Prevention Sub-Committee was formed to address burn prevention issues from a bi-national perspective. The committee comprises of representatives from states and territories of Australia, and New Zealand. The committee has been involved in various activities.

The committee creates resources to be utilised by clinicians and the general public, available via the ANZBA website. These include factsheets and community service announcements. They have also been approached by industry for specific cards for burns caused by such things as bitumen, lime and thermoplastics. These cards are to guide those caring for patients suffering from burns, for first aid and management.

In addition to the national initiatives, individual states continue to target burn prevention. All areas team up with local resources and industry to assist widespread distribution of targeted messages.

This poster aims to help you meet the team and learn what is done and how you can be involved.
